Amazing Grace

"Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me." As I sit here and think over my life, no other word can really describe how I've managed to make it thus far but GRACE. I should have been dead a long time ago with the life that I've lived, and the mistakes I've made. But through all of my life's twists and turns, I'm glad HIS grace was sufficient (enough) for me.(2 Corinthians 12:9) Even in my ignorance, Christ waited patiently for me to come around, and open up my heart and mind to receive him. I'm forever grateful to him for this, and all he has done, all he is doing and all that he has in store for me. Grace: Undeserved help from God for spiritual rebirth and sanctification meaning we are set apart for sacred use and to be made holy and we do this by dedicating ourselves, giving ourselves wholly to God and trusting in Him to make us pure and set us free because we are imperfect and enslaved without His grace. Ephesians 2:8 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God." We can't earn grace by good works, or being a good person, God has given us the gift of grace. He has given us a time and a space to repent before he judges, because he will judge. But he is righteous, which means he is fair, morally right or justifiable. God is full of grace, John 1:14 says,"And the Words was made flesh, and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) FULL of grace and truth." That tells us he has enough grace for us all. He want us to come to him, that we may find mercy and grace in the time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

We have to stay humble in the sight of God. He doesn't receive the proud or boastful. 1 Peter 5:5 he says,"...God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble." As we walk in a low place, he will always consider us and give us grace. I truly thank him for grace, because I have seen his hand in my life so strongly. It is by his grace that I am here today to even tell you about it. I should have been dead a long time ago, with my best friend Deborah. We did everything together as kids, then as teenagers. Two peas in a pod, inseparable, when you saw her you saw me. We lived a very dangerous life. We both ran away from home at the age of 16. On the night streets of southwest Atlanta. We would find ourselves in various, dangerous situations where we had to run for our life, find shelter, food, and clothes. God keep us. He gave us time to change but we did not. I remember having to go to Newnan, Ga to live with my cousin, because we were running fro a drug dealer we had stolen from. While i was in Newnan, Ga,  Deborah was killed. Her boyfriend killed her with a knife to the neck. I was devastated. I know that God kept me. I soon returned home to my very worried parents, who also showed much grace by not beating my butt that time lol. But its when I remember times like those and thank God for keeping me. We were 16 years old, ignorant, wild, and fearless. God had his hand on us, but we must understand that God will judge. I was judged as well but I thank God for sparing my life. I could write a million stories of God's grace toward me because whenever I slipped up he was always there to catch me. Romans 5:20 couldn't be any more true in my life, it says,"....where sin abound, grace did much more abound." God knows us, he understands that there are temptations in this world, that things get hard, and life throws us stuff, blow by blow. But he also wants us to know that his love for us is unwavering, meaning unchanging. Psalms 91:10-12 says,' There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." Hallelujah!!! He will send his mighty angels to catch us before he let's us fall. He cares so much for us and are ever mindful of us. He pours grace upon us. the bible says, his mercy is new every morning.(Lam. 3:22-23) So make sure to take time out today and say "Thank you Jesus for his grace"! For it is truly....Amazing.
