WHAT'S FOR DINNER??

How hungry are you? What do you desire from God? Do you thirst for him more than food, or life itself. We have to take inventory of our spiritual appetite, and know what exactly what is driving it or the motive behind the seeking. Many people make the mistake, for seeking God for a miracle, or a blessing, or selfish desires, but forget about how important it is to have that pure intimacy with  God. I personally, desire more from God. I need him more than life itself. Nothing else can satisfy the longing I have to be close to my creator. No job, no man, no amount of money or status could compare to being in the presence of Almighty God! The bible promises us that if we hunger for God  we shall be filled. Matthew 5:6 says,"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." God longs for us to seek after him. Our spirit man longs to be in constant communion and fellowship with the Father. The Psalmist Maschil wrote about it in Psalms 42:1-2 it says." As the hart (deer) panteth after the water brooks, so panteth (intense eagerness) my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God.." Our desire for God must supersede any other thing in our life. More than our need to succeed, or be great. We are to live by the word of God. Matthew 4:4 says,"....It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." The word is the very thing that feeds our soul. It draws us to him, and peaks our suspicions to the supernatural world.

OBSESSION. Its the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc. Persistence is key. Pushing the envelope in prayer and consecration. Doing everything humanly possible to achieve your goal. Earnestly seeking him with your whole heart and mind. Even if that means setting yourself apart from your friends. All you have to bring to God is your desire and your hunger to be filled. Isaiah 55:1 says,"Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine ( not literally lol) and milk without money and without price." Verse 6 goes on to talk about seeking the Lord while he may be found, and call upon him while he is near. We have to be careful not to feed our ungodly nature because it to has an appetite. It sometimes rage, and cause it to act upon the desires of the flesh. Matthew 26:41 says,"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." We lack the ongoing presence of the Lord because of sin. He is a holy God, and can't dwell in the midst of sin. Isaiah 59:2 says." Your iniquities have separated you between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not not hear." So in the pursuit of his presence we must cleanse our hands, and our hearts to receive from him. We must possess an intense willingness to got to any length to receive union with God. So think about what you are feeding yourself. Is it doubt? Are you watching the right things, seeing and hearing the right things? What appetite are you feeding? Take inventory and see whats for dinner :-)
