You know I was very excited to share my thoughts last night as I started writing my next blog post. But as I was writing I was led to stop, and talk about the world coming to an end. At work, I was reading the USA today paper, and the headlines were about the movie theatre shooting in Colorado. It is very unfortunate that so many people had to suffer such horrible terror and death. In these last days we are surrounded with calamity, natural disasters, racism, and so much more, but most of all we suffer from the lack of the fear of God. Sin has overtaken so many peoples lives that it is normal and re veered more than God himself. This is a very dangerous place to be in people. Reading the article not only brought back to my remembrance how short our days are here on earth, the bible says it is a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.(James 4:14) It also reminded me that we are in the last days and things are going to get much worse. If I were you, I would want to be on the right team, the right side of this great battle that is set forth to take place at the the end of the world. The bible says in Daniel 12:1 that there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book. So God is trying to prepare us for what is to come. He is warning us that his wrath and judgement is going to be poured out upon those that have rejected the truth, mocked his sayings, disobeyed his law, and mocked his children. But he also gives us hope, that those found in the book will be delivered.
Many are afraid to talk about the rapture, or feel it will be a catastrophic event but all you have to do is live righteous. You must make sure that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. (Revelations 21:27) The only way to get your name in that book is to have a true relationship with God, not just go to church, not just be a good person, not just feed the hungry and clothe the poor, and all those things are Christ like actions but we must invite Christ into our hearts. Confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again, ask for forgiveness of our sins and live a life according to his word. (Romans 10-9-10) Life without Christ equals death. Death inwardly here on earth and death eternal when you die. Jesus is the only way, he is the way the truth and the life, no man cometh to the father but by him. (John 14:6). We must forgive each other, love our neighbor as our self, live unselfishly, and draw nigh to God because he wants to draw nigh to you (James 4:8). We must not hesitate to be ever ready and to spread the word about his soon return, we are held accountable as believers to show people the way. Freely we received, freely give ( Matthew 10:8). Tomorrow is not promised my friends, those people who went to the movies never expected to die that night, we must be more focused on where our soul will spend eternity than be distracted by the issues of this very short life. The devil would love to keep you from the truth and blind you with false doctrine, false teachers, lies, trickery, and sin. He want to make you feel like sinning is better than living holy, that God doesn't want you to have any fun or enjoy the life he has given you, but that is deceit. Christ came that we might have life and that more abundantly. (John 10:10) He wants you to be stress free trusting him to carry every burden, joyful knowing that he is your strength, fearless knowing that he has given you love and a sound mind. God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7). The rapture is something all Christians look forward to. To finally see Jesus, the one who died for our sins so that we would t have to go to Hell, him who took our stripes that we may be healed, him who knew no sin became sin so that we may be the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21) What a joy to go be with him in heaven where there is no more pain, no more crying, no more death, no sin. Just righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Rev. 21:4, Rom. 14:17)
I could really go into more detail about exactly what is going to happen, but not in this short blog. I will soon be doing a "Rapture Ready" series on what is to be expected and how we as Christians must be prepared. I hope I have helped someone better understand the importance of giving their life to Christ and not taking the life that is given us everyday for granted. My prayer for you all is that you come to the knowledge of the truth, that you be no more entangled with the yoke of bondage, but that your mind and hearts be freed, to serve our soon coming King Jesus. I encourage you to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Hold fast to your salvation and look up for your Redeemer draweth nigh.
