CONFESSIONS

They say," Confession is good for the soul." I can agree with this saying, only because the word says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  (Romans 10:10) As Christians, not only do we believe in God, with our hearts we also confess with our mouths. We are not to be ashamed to say we are followers of Christ. Jesus made himself pretty clear in Luke 12:8-9 that says " Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God. But he that denieth me before men, shall be denied before the angels of God." I find it really easy to talk about something that you truly believe in. In the world we live in today, where you can't say God in the schools, or workplace, we have to make it our business to let our life speak for us as followers of the faith. There are so many false religions in the world today, we have to be rooted and grounded in God, so that we are not tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. (Eph. 4:14) The truth is, there is only ONE God. Creator of all living things. In him is the Son, our mediator and restorer of the breach between God and man, and in him is the Holy Spirit, our teacher and comforter. They all are one. The Holy Trinity, and at the end of the world at Jesus' return, Phillipians 2:10-11 says" That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth: And that EVERY tongue should CONFESS that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." So, nothing else really matters but the relationship with God in the end. All other false gods, and religions will still take a knee to our GOD, the Almighty King, JESUS.

1 John 4:2-3says" Herby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confessth not is not of God: and this is that spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have hear that it should come; and even know already is it in the world. Verse 4 goes on to say  "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" HALLELUJAH!!! By confessing, we understand, through the word, that we are of God, we posses his spirit. Therefore we must walk in his ways. We are to exemplify, the traits of Christ. We are not perfect but again confession is important even when we sin. 1 John 1:9 " If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." That's good news people! By merely telling the truth to ourselves, not being in denial or trying to hide anything from God sets us up for forgiveness. The funny thing is, he wants us to do it with each other as well. James 5:16 speaks about confessing your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. Not to be all nosey and up in somebodies business, but to come to one another in liberty and not in shame, knowing that you can count on each other as sisters and brothers in Christ, to pray for each other. Last but not least, in Proverbs 28:13 it says " He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confessth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." I encourage you to confess today the Lord Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. When you confess what you have done, you are instantly freed of the guilt and shame that comes with that sin. Let God cleanse you and forgive you, and turn to him, because he had new life and that more abundantly for you. The choice is yours...
