YOU BE THE JUDGE

Whats done in the dark must come to light. Our elders, have tried to tell us for years that there is nothing hidden that won't be revealed. (Luke 12:2-3)Yet, if we only judged ourselves, we would have no reason to hide our missteps. Self- judgement, is not so much the Christians moral condemnation of his owns ways or habits, as of himself for allowing such ways. Self-judgement avoids chastisement. If it is neglected, the Lord judges, and the result is chastisement, but never condemnation. Lets look at what the word says about it: Hebrews 12:6 says "Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth (reprimands)...." here we see that the Lord is not merely punishing us but treating us as sons, and is trying to teach us. God is long suffering, and he gives us a chance to get it right ourselves before he steps in and takes action. (2 Samuel 7:14) Like a watchful parent, he knows that you know right from wrong and has taught you the foundational values of life, thus he waits to see if you will abide by the laws of the land. Jezebel, was given this same opportunity to repent and turn from her wickedness and she chose not to according to Revelation 2:20-21. God wants us to understand that we have a choice. He also wants us to know that every thing we do we have to give an account for. We will be judged, when we die and leave our fleshly bodies. (Hebrews 9:27) Every idle thought, gesture, and word is being recorded by the angels at all times and we will have to answer to God for them.(2 Corinthians 5:10) He knows the intent of our hearts, if we are merely making a mistake when we do something or if out of misunderstanding we stumble and fall. (Romans 14:12)

Oftentimes, we steal the role of God by judging others for their short comings,  not being as we feel they should be. But according to Matthew 7:1-5,  it says "Judge NOT, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again". The scripture goes on to also talk about the molt we find in  each others eyes, when we have not removed the beam out of our eyes, to even judge any ones elses situation. Th e bible says if we judge ourselves we should not be judged. (1Corinthians 11:31) Here, God is giving us the chance to get things right. To look at the man in the mirror so to speak. To reevaluate our own lives, and be grateful for the mercy He has bestowed upon us not to destroy us for the arrogant mindsets we have in place that makes everyone around us a sinner and us most holy. We even go as far as to pick, which sins are big sins and little sins. To cringe at a homosexual male, yet laugh at a lie or a video of someone being beat up. God is not happy, yet he gives us time to say "You know what, Lord I was wrong, please forgive me, and help me with these thoughts of mines." I talked about us being born into sin in one of my earlier posts. It is in our nature to automatically feel we have a right to say whats right and wrong according to our own law. God is saying you be the judge, and if you don't judge yourself then I'll do it. We want to get things right before we cross over, because it will then be too late to repent and be forgiven. (Revelation 20:12) ( Romans 14: 10)

The good news is because we are still alive we have time to correct this. Let us be quick to love and not judge. God is a God of love, he wants us to be united, not pick out each other flaws to make ourselves feel better about our own lives. His will for us is to be one body, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. ( Ephesians 4:5) The bible says a house divided against itself cannot stand (Matthew 12:25) so, fight the urge and the need to see someones flaws before you get to know that person. Or turn your nose up at a homeless man, or prostitute. Everyone, has issues, and everything we say and do will be judged in the last day, when the Lord come he will bring to light the hidden things and show who we really were.(1 Corinthians 3:5) What does your heart say? Have you checked the man in the mirror lately? Will God be pleased with the person we have become or will he say "Depart from me ye worker of iniquity I never knew you".  Think about it and YOU BE THE JUDGE...
