We HAVE Overcome!!

The great Martin Luther King Jr. made famous the saying "We shall overcome", one day, and what a visionary he was, but my God said that we have already overcome. According to Revelations 12:11 we overcome by the blood of the Lamb. The word of God is settled forever in heaven, therefore we must proclaim it here on earth. ( Psalms 119:89) All we need is faith in God (Mark 11:22) and nothing shall be impossible to us (Matthew 17:20). God is a faith God and he will do what he said, his covenant will he not break nor alter the thing that has gone out of his lips (Psalms 89:34). In one of  my last posts I talked about finding rest in God, trusting him with all of our problems that we may live stress free, so when you know that God is going to take care of you, we can speak with boldness and assurity. For Gods word to be effective we must speak it and that creative power will come forth performing that which is spoken in faith. Faith, without it is impossible to please the Lord (Hebrews 11:6). So how do we obtain faith? Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing the word of God. We must surround ourselves with the word. Our eyes should be reading the word, ears hearing the word, mouth speaking the word, and heart believing the word. The bible says in Romans 12:3 that God has dealt to every man the measure of faith and all we need is a mustard seed according to Luke 17:6. OK so now we have faith, we trusting God, now what? We must keep pressing toward the mark (Phil. 3:14) Pray and ask God for the vision because he has a plan. And thankfully we can trust his plan instead of making them ourselves. Jeremiah 29:11 speaks about how his thoughts towards us are good and not of evil,  to give us an expected end. As youth and young adults our life is all about planning. Setting forth goals in our lives to obtain a secure livelihood for ourselves, and like all have done we make mistakes and go astray. If anybody know about making mistakes (raising hand slowly) its me!

Early on in my life I decided that I knew what I wanted and I would not go about it the same way everyone else did. The long way took too long in my book, so I cut corners, half-stepped, and failed more times than I can really count. Until, I realized that there is an order to things. A divine order is set forth in our lives and its up to us to connect, and tap in to our purpose. Psalms 119:133 says "Order my steps in thy word: and let not iniquity have dominion over me." We must constantly ask for direction in our lives to stay the course intended. Keeping the word in us definitely helps us on this journey, the bible says "thy Word oh Lord have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee." (Psalms 119:11) it also says in Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding, but acknowledge him in ALL your ways and HE will direct your path. Really trusting in the Lord and understanding that when we come to Jesus, our lives are no longer our own. He is the captain of our souls, and he wants to be acknowledged as such and recognized. In return, he gives us power and authority to fight this good fight of faith. He has equipped us with the neccessary tools to overcome any obstacle in this race. The bible says we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony. (Rev.12:11)

One of the benefits of coming through is that we can help others who have struggled with the same things. We dont have to be ashamed of what we go through because once its covered in the Blood the devill can't hold nothing against you or retaliate against you because you repent and turn. I telling you, I cant make this stuff up that has happened to me in my life, from being on the street, back and forth to jail, abused and broken. Only God had the power to turn my life but I had to make a decision to surrender, knowing that if he brought me to it he could and would bring me through it. We know that we have grown and overcome when we are faced with continuous temptation and at your weakest point you still resist. That thing has no more power over you. The bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Sometimes all we have to do is nothing. Abstain, and you will build up strength. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great example, he had a vision, didnt give in to the temptation of violence and rasicm, but instead died in faith believing that even though things didnt look like they were going to get any better, that tomorrow would bring a new day and if we kept the faith and came together in unity that the dream would no longer be a dream but a constant reality. So wake up and see that we HAVE overcome!
