Ugly Truths

The truth, the whole truth,  and nothing but the truth so help me GOD! We all claim to know it, tend to want share it whether asked or not, but what about those truths about ourselves we never want to address. Have we really obtained what the bible calls truth in the inward parts (Psalms 51:6). Jesus said he is the way, the TRUTH, and the life, no man cometh to the father but by me. (John 14:6) In reading the bible we find yourselves forced to look in the mirror at ourselves and see our own imperfections. We see that we have fallen short and need God even more, therefore in searching ourselves we find GOD. He is the revealer of secrets. (Daniel 2:47) He will show us how much we need him, why we have been deceived, hurt, and lead astray. In turn we will find the devil and his tricks and become empowered knowing that he has none and that he is and always has been a liar. The bible says the truth will make you free (John 8:32) We are constantly held down by lies spread by demonic forces that tell us we are not good enough, or that no one loves us, or that we will never grow. The devil is the father of lies, (John 8:44) but there is nothing hidden in Christ, he has told us all things. (Mark 13:2) Just think about it for a minute, how one lie can ruin a whole family, or a destroy a life. Not knowing the truth hurts us, even worse not telling the truth damns us. The bible says all liars shall have there part in the lake of fire. (Revelation 21:8) How easy it is for us to tell a lie, some say a little fib, or stretching the truth, but God does not condone it at all. He hates it because his truth is light (John 3:21) It is his will that we live in truth so that our eyes are opened and we gain understanding.

Our feelings are hurt when we ask some one a question and don't really expect the truth, like, "does this make me look fat"? Its crazy because we expect people to lie to us to make us feel better. To deceive us so that we don't have to face those ugly truths about ourselves. Truth be told we don't want to hear the truth because we don't want to change. We are comfortable living our lives as we see fit and don't want anyone to have a problem with it or a say. We know if the truth is revealed to us then we are held accountable for knowing and not doing. Cm on people! You know God don't like ugly lol. On the flip side we go off on our significant other if we feel they are lying to us or hiding something from us. The truth is cut and dry. It doesn't cut corners, cares bout feelings, or recants. It is simply the truth. Truth is defined as reality; verified indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like. The state or quality of being faithful. Sounds like God to me, even in our worship we must be true. John 4:24 says we must worship in spirit and in truth. We are to speak the truth in love so we don't wound one another or cause others to err in the faith. (Ephesians 4:15). It all for the good. Seek truth and peace. Love out of a pure heart. Search yourself daily for those hidden and ugly truths that we dont want anyone else to find out about us and take them to God, and say here I am, flaws and all, and he will honor that. He loves to deliver his people, and the devil will have nothing to hang over your head because everything is out and you have nothing to be ashamed of. God is a God of restoration and revival. He will make all things new, no matter how ugly. True story :-)
