What are you doing?
School, work, home, repeat. Some of our lives have gotten so systematic that we forget why we are even here. We were not created to work all our lives at a job we hate, or even love for that matter but to spread the gospel to all the world. To be soul winners for Christ. Many people, feel lost in life. Like they are stuck, or unfulfilled. Partly, because we will never feel whole until we make Jesus our Lord and Saviour and we do what we were destined to do. Luke 12:43 says " Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find doing". So what will the Lord find you doing, when he comes back? Will be have accomplished the tasks he gave us to complete? Have you used the talents he bestowed upon you to win souls to the kingdom, or have we been sitting on our spiritual hands just trying to get by? Hmmmmmm. I was very guilty of all of these questions. I too, felt like life kind of just passes by and I just hope to make it in. NO! Thank God for spiritual awakening. The great commission was not just for the disciples. It is for us now! What is the great commission you ask. Well I'm glad you asked lol it says in Matthew 28:19-20 " Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." That's good news, here he gives us instructions and comforts us by telling us that he is right there with us always even until the end. We are to busy ourselves in the ministry, strengthening our brothers and sisters with the word. Reaching out to the broken hearted, feeding the homeless, clothing the poor, visiting the sick and incarcerated, and taking care of the widows.(Isaiah 61:1) The bible said in Matthew 25:35-40 and Ill paraphrase," I was hungry and you gave me meat: I was thirsty and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger and ye took me in: naked and you clothed me: I was sick and you visited me: I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous answered him and said, Lord, when saw we thee hungered and fed thee or thirsty and gave thee drink? And the King shall answer and say, "Verily,I say unto you inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of these my brethren you have done it unto me" Verse 46 goes on to say, "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." When I first read these scriptures, I was immediately convicted. I can remember seeing a homeless person and looking away when I had money to spare. I remember becoming to busy that I haven't visited a friend, or relative incarcerated, and it was all to clear to me that I had forgotten those I loved in the hospital if it wasn't someone in my immediate family. I didn't even realize that I was not only doing a disservice to them but to the Lord. As a Christian we are to exemplify Christ himself.
I have found that it is the little things that gets the most attention from God. He looks at the heart to see if you really are trying to live right, help your fellow man, treat others with love and respect, obey the law, live peaceably, and share the gospel. Many people, feel that its hard to be a Christian. that they give up so much by being saved, but my friend I'm telling you LIFE begins when you turn yourself over to Jesus. All the so called "fun" you thought you were having by being reckless in your actions, loose with you tongue and behavior, is all a trick from the enemy to distract you from the big picture. Which is JESUS. He actually came down from his throne seated at the right hand of God himself, and humbled himself as a man, who knew no sin or wrong, suffered persecution, and died on the cross. So, that we all could have a chance to know the father ourselves and be forgiven of our sins and live with him eternally. Hell, was never intended for man but for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41) but God is so righteous, and his word is so true that he has to judge wickedness and no sin can glory in his presence. (1Corinthians 1:29) But, we all sin, from day to day, the bible says" For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.(Romans 3:23) Anyone who says they have no sin, deceive themselves, and the truth is not in them. (1John 1:8) But it is the daily strive to perfection that God looks at. He is searching for someone who is willing to stand for righteousness, and be a mouthpiece for him. So many people are ashamed to say they believe in God and are Christians. The bible says," Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32-33)
So take the time to evaluate your life with Christ. What are you doing? Are we busy in the kingdom, working for God as hard as we work our 9-5's. Are we aware of whats going on around us, and trying to make a positive difference no matter how small? Or, are we just blending in? Not standing out for Christ. Are you ashamed to be a Christian? Are you just getting by in life, in school, at work, at , home or church? What will the Lord find you doing when he returns?
